Is PalmOs 5 supported?

We have had mixed reports, please let us know how you get on, by trying the shareware version first..

I am having problems logging into the registered user site.

You must use lower case letters for the login and password.

I have never installed a Palm application before, how do I do it?

Alarms are listed, but only play the standard beep sound

  • Problem:

I have installed the Creationzone alarms. All the new alarms show up as options, I select the one I want to play, but the machine continues to play the sound it came with, it refuses to acknowledge the new Creationzone alarms.

    Solution:

If you have installed other alarm collections, you will see the problem you have described after installing Creationzone alarms. You need to remove any previously installed alarm sounds before the collection will work. This is due to a limitation in PalmOs that only allows around 256 alarms to be installed.

You need to use an application called Z’catalog which lets you hunt around in the guts of the OS and remove ANY file, so be careful what you remove. If you are unsure of what to remove, contact the developer of the non standard alarm collection, they may be able to help.

Using z’catalog, you can remove the old alarms installed, it should work then. Here’s where you download Zcatalog

Download Zcatalog from www.palmgear.com

I want to customise which alarms I carry around with me.

We have Alarm Master, the perfect companion to Creationzone Alarms for PalmOs, allowing you to edit your alarm collections. We recommend that you purchase the bundle, Click Here.

The alarms are quiet...why?

  • Check the Preferences application. You can set the volume here. However recognise that volume is limited by the speaker each device has.

Which devices are supported?

  • Anything with PalmOs 3.0 and above.
  • Tested on Palm IIIx, Palm V, Palm VII...you get the picture it works!.
  • Tested and works with FlashPro on Palm V. Allows you to load the Alarms into Flash. (For Flash equipped Palms only)
  • Tested on the new Treo from Handspring, we have a separate release for Handspring ™Treo ™. This Treo release integrates into the Treo and allows alarms to be used as Ringtones, SMS alerts and normal alarms.  When you purchase a subscription, you get access to alarms and Ringtones.

I am not sure what files should be installed.

  • If you double click on the .zip file. Within this are further zipped files, these then contain the replace sounds. For starters try double clicking on the all.zip file, within this is a file called system_midi_sounds.pdb. Double click this file, you should get the Palm Install dialogue. Click ok, then HotSync. That should get you running.

 How do I install alarms.

  • All you need to do is unzip the file and double click the system_midi_sounds.pdb file (within windows). When you double click the system_midi_sounds.pdb you should get the Pilot Install confirmation dialog box, if your don’t then it is possible that your Pilot Desktop software is not installed correctly.

  • HotSync your PalmOs device to install.

  • To ‘Activate’ the new midi alarms go to DateBook, Options, Preferences, where you can select Alarm Sounds.

I want to revert to the old alarms

  • Why? oh well....here goes.

  • Within the zip is a file called Uninstall English.zip. (This is the original PalmOs Alarm file)

  • Extract this file to a known location.

  • Double click on it, Pilot Install Tool should recognise it and bring up the "Confirm install" selection dialogue, click OK.

  • Hotsync your pilot and viola your pilot has passed back in time.

  • Lost the original ZIP?, click here for the backup file described above
